We welcome individuals and groups whose stay supports Christian ministry, charitable activity, rest, prayer, spiritual reflection, learning, wellbeing or service in the spheres of society.
No. Kinahan Lodge is a charitable retreat and ministry gathering space. It may host residential retreats and gatherings aligned with our purposes, but it is not run as a commercial hotel, venue-hire business, AirBnB, or conference centre.
If you are an individual UK taxpayer and the usual Gift Aid conditions are met, your personal donation to YWAM Harpenden may be eligible for Gift Aid. Gift Aid is normally not relevant to organisational donations.
Yes. An organisation may choose to make a voluntary donation to support the stay of its group. That does not change the charitable basis on which the booking is offered.
We do not normally require deposits under the donation-supported model. If an enquiry needs a different arrangement, we must review it before confirming whether Kinahan Lodge can host it.
You may choose to make a donation before, during or after your stay. An advance donation is voluntary and is not required to secure access under our normal donation-supported model.
No. For donation-supported stays, we issue booking confirmations, not invoices. If you make a donation, we can provide a donation receipt.
A suggested donation helps guests and organisers understand the typical costs and wider stewardship needs of hosting a stay. This may include hospitality, upkeep and responsible care for the building. It is guidance only. It is not a fee, tariff, room rate, invoice, minimum contribution or debt.
No. You are welcome whether or not you are able to donate. We want Kinahan Lodge to remain accessible and do not want money to prevent appropriate participation.
Kinahan Lodge was made possible through generous giving and interest-free loans. Today it is sustained by voluntary donations. We do not charge a mandatory fee for stays or retreats. Guests may choose to donate to support the costs of hospitality, utilities, food, cleaning, laundry, staffing, upkeep and responsible stewardship of the building, but access is not conditional on payment.
In YWAM we often speak about the spheres of society: the places where faith is lived out in ordinary life and work. These include family, church, education, government, media, arts and entertainment, and business and economics. We also welcome people serving in related areas such as healthcare, law, science, sport, community life and justice. We value their stories, calling and experience.
